Polish Podkarpacie is the land of multifaceted heritage and unique historical monuments. The historical monuments described in “Skarby” (Treasures) include architectural masterpieces located throughout the whole Podkarpacie.

This site is to give an insight into unique works of art and architecture of Polish Podkarpacie, provide the users with specific historic knowledge about each object.

Publishing house „Skarby Podkarpackie” (Treasures of Podkarpacie) offers to travel in time which has gone. We show the places which still preserve traces of the past worth seeing and knowing about in order to know the history of ones own region, people and ethnic group. We write about past events which have been deliberately skipped for years, and quite often currently forgotten.

With „Skarby Podkarpackie” you can also travel without a passport to Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania. The Carpathian Mountains culturally unite a huge European area which for thousands years has been a melting pot of cultures, trends and interesting artistic phenomena. For hundreds years it was a place of cruel wars and tragic migrations, but was also a peaceful harbor for dozens of nations.

„Skarby Podkarpackie” presents cultural achievements of the people in this region, including national and religious minorities, which used to be numerous in Podkarpacie.

Podkarpacie is a province in south-eastern Poland crossed by numerous rivers, where most important are San and Wisla. Its landscape varies – rather flat in the North and hilly in the South. So far, it is gladly visited by experienced tourists seeking wild nature, attractive historical monuments and delicious regional cuisine.
